Workbench Full user guide
In the page below, we will go through the workbench menu options one by one. Please take some time to read this and get familiar with the options available to you. Also note at this time the built in Second life Web browser is.. to be polite.. not as good as it could be... it doesn't allow file uploads and downloads. We recommend the free browsers Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari for editing your Hermes Project.
Setting up
In order to create MP3 Albums to sell and give away you need to create your account. Rez the workbench key contained in the Hermes package and register your avatar. Touch the workbench to select the Hermes Main Menu.
Edit
Select "Edit" to Create and Edit your Mp3 Album online. After logging in, you will be taken to your album creation and edit pages, this is where you can create albums, edit playlists, add artwork and set your music for direct to disc download. Full instructions can be found here
Rez Album
Select "Rez Album" to create either sellable or demo album objects.
- Sellable albums are full perm ‘burned’ albums that can be packaged and sold in-world. Playback and control is only available to the owner / customer. These can also be set to allow the user to download the tracks to their PC via your track list.
- Demo albums are albums that any avatar can access and are therefore perfect for instore displays, shows, exhibits and other public places. There are 2 versions available from the Rez Menu, Full and Single prim - *Single prim Demos are ideal for shop displays where you need to keep an eye on your prim count.
Once the blank album is rezzed on the bench, you can then drop an album script into it and prepare it for sale. The Workbench has a built in MP3 Player for you to test your albums - in order to use it on group owned land, please deed the media switch contained in the package.
Status
Select "Status" to obtain your account status. This menu will display the amount of albums on your account, how many credits you have free and an option to top up your account via a Hermes ATM
Version
Select "Version" to display the current version of your workbench, we may ask you for this information if you have any tech questions.
